A*L*O*T Memberships Due for Renewal
It’s that time of year again. December 31 is the end of the membership year and that means we all need to make sure that our membership is renewed. At the last annual A*L*O*T general membership meeting, the members voted to set March 1 as the deadline to pay membership dues. If dues are not paid by that date, the membership will become INACTIVE .[ Back to Index ]The website is a major benefit for ALOT members. It is an excellent way to promote your operation by putting your address, phone number, email address and even your personal website information before the Angus buying public. Don’t risk having your information removed from this valuable resource.
In addition to a listing on the website, as a paid up member you will be assured of receiving all newsletters published during 2003 and you will be eligible to participate in all A*L*O*T sponsored events such as sales and field days.
New members who joined and paid dues after October 1, 2002 will be paid up for 2003. Current members who paid their dues after October 1, 2002 will also be paid up for the 2003 membership year.
A*L*O*T will hold its Spring Female Sale on May 10, 2003. The sale will again be held at the Titus County Sale Facility in Mt. Pleasant, TX. Even though the sale may seem a long way off, time has a tendency to creep up on most of us, so please start planning now to determine your consignments. Remember that well conditioned cattle sell better than thinner cattle (well conditioned means FAT). Late winter and early spring are tough times to put weight on cows that are nursing calves, so plan to feed these girls well so that they will bring top dollar for you. Remember that all consignments should be accompanied by current pregnancy status, as determined by a practicing vet, for the sale update sheet. The consignment form for the Spring Female Sale [can be found here]. The consignment period opens on February 14, 2003 and closes on Mar 15, 2003.[ Back to Index ]
A*L*O*T Hosts Another Successful Bull and Female Sale
The A*L*O*T Angus Association held its annual bull and female sale on November 30, 2002 at the Titus County Fair Sale Facility in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. We enjoyed excellent weather and one of the largest crowd of buyers in recent memory. Consignors provided the prospective buyers with a slate of cattle that were well bred and well conditioned.[ Back to Index ]Auctioneer Scott Crawford of Platte City, Missouri moved the sale along at a lively clip. As in the past, volunteer labor kept sale expenses to a minimum. Our thanks to the sale committee and to all the volunteers who made another successful sale possible.
